The HBCU Project presents HBCU Experience Week, an extraordinary week of celebration, education, and empowerment. This series of events brings together over 5,000 local HBCU alumni, prospective students, and supporters to celebrate the rich legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) while creating pathways for the next generation.

The week kicks off September 14th with our DFW HBCU Block Party, where alumni gather to celebrate heritage while raising critical funds for THP's partner HBCU alumni clubs. On September 17th, students can attend our new College Prep Workshop at the AT&T Discovery District Theater, designed to provide tools and insights to students as they prepare for college. The experience culminates at the AT&T Discovery District with our flagship Awareness & Recruiting Event, our most acclaimed program that continues to transform educational journeys for DFW metroplex students.

The HBCU Experience Week isn't just an event—it's a movement to strengthen our community, empower young scholars, and build a brighter future through the unparalleled opportunities that HBCUs provide.

Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm

A collaboration of local HBCU alumni clubs uniting for a common purpose. This celebration of HBCU pride and community features music, food, vendors, and networking opportunities at an experience that celebrates their shared legacies.

What makes this event truly special is its direct impact: 100% of proceeds are distributed equally among participating alumni clubs. This directly funds scholarships and support programs for DFW area students attending the partner club HBCUs.

College prep workshop

Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

This invaluable workshop equips students with essential tools for academic success as they navigate their college journey. Led by Dymensions Educational Consulting, participants will receive expert guidance on test preparation strategies, discover how to identify their best-fit schools, and gain a comprehensive assessment of their college readiness.

Whether students are just beginning to explore their options or putting the finishing touches on their college plans, this can't-miss workshop provides the practical tools and insights they need to succeed in their higher education pursuits.

The HBCU Project's signature event—where educational pathways transform for DFW students. Connect directly with representatives from 20+ Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), exploring their unique campus cultures, academic offerings, and admission processes in one convenient location.

Through exhibits and one-on-one conversations with admissions counselors and local alumni association representatives, discover how HBCUs offer distinctive environments that celebrate excellence and heritage. This event has helped countless students discover additional opportunities and find their perfect college match.
